University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a public research university located in Benin City, Edo State.

UNIBEN was founded in 1970 as an institute of technology before it was accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 1 July 1971. It was not a federal government owned institution until 1975.

The University of Benin has two campuses. They are Ugbowo campus and Ekehuan campus. UNIBEN has a teaching hospital known as University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). The university offers courses in medicine, dentistry and medical sciences. The school has 15 faculties. The first female vice-chancellor in Nigeria, Grace Alele-Williams served at UNIBEN from 1985 to 1991.

Has uniben started giving admission?

The University of Benin has released the merit list for the 2023/2024 admission. All students who participated and made the aggregate in the Post-UTME screening exercise can now check their admission status online.

To check your admission status, follow these instructions:

Visit the JAMB Portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.

Log in with your username and password.

Scroll down, look for "Check Admission Status" and click.

Select your examination year and enter your JAMB registration number.

Click "Check Admission Status" to see your UNIBEN admission status.

You can also click on "Access my CAPS" for a simpler and easier process.

Uniben kofa

Kofa Uniben is an exclusive student management system that is available to all Centre for Distance Learning (CDL) students in Uniben. It is part of the West African eUniversity Project (WAeUP). Kofa was built to provide access to educational resources and information to all Uniben CDL students.

Kofa Uniben controls student application and registration processes. It also provides qualitative and accurate information about study progress.
