Nollywood veteran Patience Ozokwor aka Mama G has revealed the reason why Nollywood actors seek financial assistance online when they fall sick.
In a recent interview, Mama G stated that most times when Nollywood stars fall sick, they manage their illness within their family but as the condition deteriorates, they are forced to solicit for funds from the public.
She said, "Everybody feels you have a lot of money, nobody helps you and you're managing it with your family and when you're on the sick bed, nobody pays you anymore because it's when you're healthy that you can be shooting movies and getting money. The illness has kept you there for a long time. The one you saved is exhausted."
Patience Ozokwor further stated that Nollywood stars are heavy spenders. Due to the nature of their job, they have to keep up appearances and live to the standard of the public and that requires a lot of money.
She said, If you wear one dress to an award night, you won't go and buy the cheap ones because they'll say you're a star. These are the things that make us spend a lot of money."
