As usual, the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan erupted with celebrations among Nigeria fans after the Super Eagles of Nigeria saw off Cameroon in a rollercoaster AFCON round 16 clash.

The two sides edged on the crossroads of history as they crossed swords in the biggest footballing rivalry in Africa.

Sharing three equal AFCON crowns and three AFCON wins apiece in their last six meetings, the stage was set for a blockbuster clash as the two sides lock horns.

Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman was the hero of the night. Lookman scored in each half to hand the Super Eagles a deserved over the Indomitable Lions.

It was a celebration galore at the blast of the final whistle for Nigeria fans at the Stadium. With whistles, drums, songs, and chants, Nigeria fans turned the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium into a seething cauldron of celebrations.

Conversely, it was another football nightmare for Cameroon fans. Disappointed with the result, the Cameroonian fans were seen leaving the Stadium in droves as the match entered extra time with the Super Eagles leading 2-0.

Reacting to the departing Cameroon fans, Nigeria fans could be heard trolling them with an amusing but popular football pidgin song which reads, 'Dem don dey go! One-by-one! Dem don dey go!! One-by-one.'

Woven into the fabric of Nigeria's robust football culture, the song is a popular football troll song usually used by winning fans to troll losing opponents' fans.

It is translated thus; 'They (opponent fans) have begun to leave, one after the other.'

Ademola Lookman's brace was enough to seal victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Indomitable Lions, who failed to record a single shot on target throughout the game.

Nigeria will trade tackles with Angola in the quarterfinals of the tournament after the latter saw off Namibia with a 3-0 win to reach the last 8.
