All products in the Chinese supermarket are labelled in Yen, FCCPC confirms rumors about the Abuja Chinese supermarket

The Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) confirms that the Abuja Chinese Supermarket indeed restricted Nigerians from shopping at the mall. A thorough inspection of the supermarket revealed how products are labeled in the Chinese currency, "Yen" and not the Nigeria 'Naira." They banned all Nigerians from shopping for items at the mall except for fellow Chinese citizens. Evidence that the supermarket truly exists is shown in the clip below, as opposed to what the human rights activist VeryDarkMan said.

The acting FCCPC CEO, Adamu Abdullahi confirmed the authenticity of the concerns raised by Nigerians who weren't allowed to shop at the mall. And now, the owners of the supermarket are to pay a fine of N10 million each for violating the law and also turnover 10% of last year's revenue. Adamu believes that every action attracts a consequence which they have to pay for in full.

Recall that a group of Abuja residents raised an alarm about a Chinese supermarket that restricted Nigerians from shopping at its mall. They found this act disturbing and quickly shared details about the mall in the media after which the FCCPC sprung into action to confirm the allegations.
