Celestial church cancels plan for Portable and Pasuma's performance after uproar from netizens
The celestial church has announced the cancellation of their initial plan to invite Portable and Pasuma to sing at the praise night of one of their branches. Recall a recent flyer had gone viral and this flyer was printed by a branch of the celestial church. They put the photos of some Nigerian singers saying these singers would be performing at the praise night. This had caused an uproar on social media because these singers are not gospel singers but the program is a Christian one.
The branch that invited Portable and the others is the Celestial Church of Christ, Land of Goshen in Lagos. Just yesterday, they revealed the event that would be coming up and the artists that have been invited which are Portable, Pasuma and May Shua. This didn't sit well with many Nigerians.
It was Olatosho Oshoffa who is the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters which is located in Ketu that condemned this act that had been carried out by their branch. He took to social media to clear the air and announced that these artistes (Portable and pasuma) would not be performing at that church for the praise night. He stated this this new development came after he had speaken to the Shepherd-in-charge of the branch that had organised the event.
He assured the public that a change will be effected immediately. In his Facebook post he said “Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters. He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the nights. There is no doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”
