Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been under pressure as Manchester United continue to struggle this season.

Far from a brilliant start at Man United dugout last season, Erik ten Hag has struggled to assemble a formidable Man United squad this season despite splashing over £400m on transfers since arriving the club.

This season, United have crumbled like a pack of cards with series of poor results and unsettling records.

For the first time in the history of the club, Man United finished with their least Champions League points in the group stages, and are the first English club to concede as much as 15 goals in the group stages of the competition.

Also, for the first time in the history of the club, United lost 12 of their first 23 games in a season, including recording their first-ever home defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Graham Potter tipped to replace ten Hag in Man United dugout

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been linked to replacing Erik ten Hag as Man United manager.

According to The Sun, Man United soon-to-be co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will sack Erik ten Hag if Man United's poor performance continue, and his favourite manager Graham Potter will be primed to take over from the Dutch tactician.

Graham Potter soared on his managerial career while at Brighton but suffered setback and was sacked at Chelsea. Nevertheless, Sir Jim is said to be a big fan of the English gaffer and had wanted him at his other football outfit Nice in France.

Hence, should the 71-year-old part ways with ten Hag, it is believed Graham Potter will be the favorite to assume the reins at Old Trafford as new Man United manager.

Erik ten Hag reacts to sack rumours

With the reports of his imminent sack filtering in, Erik seems unconcerned with his Man United future and is focused on returning the team to winning ways.

When asked whether he is worried of his Man United future, ten Hag replied;

“No, there is no concern because I’m here to win and I have to make the team play better.

“If you play good, even then good is not good enough.

"We’re inconsistent so I have to work on the team playing for longer periods at a higher level.

Manchester United will take on Liverpool in their next clash with Erik ten Hag hopeful of reversing the downward spiral with a statement win or draw against the Reds.

He has faced Liverpool three times as United manager, winning two and losing one with a record score margin of 7-0.
