Father of a 2 year old boy who was killed by NDLEA operatives revales they threatened him.
The father of the 2 year old boy who was recently killed by some NDLEA operatives revealed these operatives have threatened him. He says the threat is coming after killing his son.
Recall last week that a 2 year old boy was killed by stray bullets from operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). This incident occurred last week at Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area in Delta State.
The father of this boy has been identified as Mr.Fidelis Omhonria. He has cried out saying that his family needs justice at this point.
He shared that these men pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him after he had told them that their bullets killed his young son. He says it was one of the operatives who pointed the gun at him to threaten him.
Recall his son, Ivan died last week at the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba. Thy had rushed the boy to this hospital after a stray bullet hit him but he died.
The atary bullet had hit the little boy while these operatives were chasing some illegal drug sellers. This was during a raid in their drug den in that area last Thursday.
The younger sibling of the deceased had also been injured in the process. Some broken glasses had injured his eyes. The boy is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
The children had gone to their mothers shop that Thursday Thursday they returned from school when this incident happened. The father had picked the children from school and took them to their mother's shop planning to come back later
This was around 4:30pm. The father of the deceased shared that his wife and daughter narrowly escaped the bullets but the bullets hit his son and shattered the glass in the shop which injured their second son.
He said barely 7 mins after he dropped them off, his wife called him shouting to come back and he quickly did as she told him that their son’s intestines were coming out.
She then called again to tell him to meet them at the hospital. When he got to the crime scene, he asked what happened and someone told him.
He then spotted the Hilux van of NDLEA driving towards the shop alongside other vehicles.
A witness had told him it was these men who hit his son so he approached them even though they were heavily armed.
He says when he Confronted them, they didn't listen so he began to take pictures with his phone.
It was then one of the operatives pointed a gun at him and threatened him to give him the phone.
He didn't do so but another operative then came down and communicated with the others using his eyes and they all drove off.
He says he entered his own ar and followed them until they stopped and he confronted them again.
Eventually they called their commander and he narrated what happened.
He had gone to the boss office at Ogwashi-Uku.
The boss hen pleaded with him saying he shouldn't worry and he would send his officers to check on the condition of the children.
He revealed that when he got to the hospital at 6:30pm his wife told him the children needed blood and some officers who came to the hospital donated.
He said eventually around 11p.m to midnight, the doctors told him they lost the little boy because the damage on his intestines was too much.
They are now focusing on treating the second son.
Similarly the state Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Bright Edafe, revealed that Mr Wale Abass who is the state Commissioner of Police has ordered that this case be transferred to SCID.
He revealed that all parties involved will appear before the CP on Monday and all culprits will be brought to justice.
