Gunmen set Imo Politician home ablaze

Some suspected gunmen have set the house of an Imo Politician on fire. These criminals (arsonists) set fire to this man's house recently in Imo State. This incident occured on Thursday morning, September 28, 2023.

The home they set on fire belonged to the lawmaker who is representing the Orlu/Oru East/Orsu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of Imo State. The owner of the house ahs been identified as Canice Nwachukwu. His home was set on fire on Thursday morning and this had been just a few hours before they began the South-East summit on economy and security which was held in Owerri.

Good enough, the Politician wasn't at home at the time this incident occurred. The house was located in a village at Abara, Amanator Okporo community which is located in Orlu Local Government Area. The suspects came to the house with some explosives and fuel and then set the house ablaze.

Witness revaled that these men threatened the staff in the house but they all escaped luckily before the house was set ablaze.
Mr Henry Okoye who is the Imo State spokesperson has revealed that they have commenced an investigation into the case.

A witness stated “The men came with explosives metals and fuel. Before setting the house on fire, they looted some properties. They equally made video footage of the compound and the domestic staff. While making the videos, they threatened to mastermind more terrors. They came with guns, and explosives like locally made bombs and dynamites. The staff luckily escaped before they set the building on fire,”
