The 2020 United States presidential election was the 59th presidential election since the USA gained independence on July 4, 1776, which placed George Washington as the first president on April 30, 1789. Since then, the country has had various leaders contest elections every four years, and those who have a good reputation win for the second term. In today’s article about the United States presidential election, we will be talking about the Trump versus Biden presidential election that was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2023.

In the 2020 election, the incumbent Republican president, Donald Trump, and his vice president, Mike Pence, lost to Joe Biden and the junior U.S. senator from California, Kamala Harris. The election took place against the backdrop of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the global recession. This, however, impacted politics in the United States, as all parties were trying hard to buy and sell using tactics. The election for that year was recorded to be the election that saw the highest voter turnout in percentage since the presidential election that took place in 1900, where incumbent Republican President William McKinley defeated his Democratic challenger, William Jennings Bryan.
