Islamic teacher sexually assaults 6 year old pupil
An Islamic teacher has been arrested for the secual assault of a 6 year old pupil. This man has been identified as Mosediq Toheeb and he is 24 years old.
He was remanded on Wednesday by the Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court for sexual assault of a 6 year old girl in the cool.
The magistrate, Patrick Nwaka who presided over the court had remanded this man on 2 counts of sexual violation.
Mr Thomas Nurudeen, who is the police prosecutor, told the court that the incident had happened on the 7th of May, 2023.
The incident happened at the University of Lagos Central Mosque.
They revealed that this was the 2nd time this would be happening. He had assaulted this young girl before.
The child's mother also told the court that the girl came home with blood stains on her clothes. She told her mother that the teacher had taken her to a different classroom and tied her hands and mouth. He had also warned her not to tell anybody.
The lawyer of the defendant pleaded with the court because the offender was a finalist in the university and would start exams soon.
The magistrate didn't take the plea and ordered that he should be remanded.
He said there was no document proving he was a student about to write exams.
The case has been adjourned till June 19, 2023.
