VP, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo stopped his convoy on Monday to support victims of an accident on Airport Road in Abuja.
The Vice President was on his way to Owo, Ondo State, to console the victims of Sunday's terrorist attack at St.Francis Catholic Church when he observed a car that had somersaulted. When he stopped to help the stranded occupants of the automobile, he was in the opposite lane of his convoy.
His security and medical teams worked together to extract the victim from the wrecked vehicle before transporting him to the hospital.
In a text message, his spokesman, Laolu Akande, verified the incident: "On his way to the airport this morning, VP came across a road traffic accident, stopped to provide aid, and assured the sufferer was transferred to the hospital with VP's convoy ambulance. "
He subsequently continued his journey and is now in Ondo State, on his way to the scene of yesterday's incident in Owo.
