The Super Eagles played the Crocodiles Of Lesotho in Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday evening. The very first time in 20 years that the Super Eagles will be playing in Lagos. In attendance was the Lagos state Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representative and some other dignitaries within the state. Movement had been restricted around the stadium from 10 am, earlier in the day.

The match started on a high note, with Victor Osimhen scoring from Kelechi Iheanacho’s assist in the 23rd minute, which took his qualifying tally to five.

After a wonderful work from the goalscorer, Victor Osimhen, Oghenekaro Etebo scored from a loose ball, to make it two. The Crocodiles had seen a goal ruled out for offside earlier, before Nigeria's second.

Paul Onuachu came off the bench to bury the match at 3-nil, Onuachu, who was also on target in the Benin Republic.

This victory put Nigeria on 14 points, sitting comfortably at the top of Group L, while the match between Sierra Leone and Benin Republic was delayed, due to the COVID-19 result.

Francis Uzoho was back to the team, after been out of the team since his ACL injury in 2019. As Osimhen bags the Man Of The Match award.
