Speaking to journalists at the 111th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, Joe Ajaero mentioned that the issue of Child Labor isn't only applicable to Nigeria.

Child Labour is a global issue that requires a global effort to tackle.

Majority attribute the cause for child Labour being the financial situations of parents, especially in countries where there is a high rate of poverty.

Underage children are seen hawking wares on the street, some are subjected to hard labor in the construction sites because their parents aren't able to provide for them.

He also mentioned that some parents receive below the minimum wage and this leaves them with no option but to subject their children to work.

When discussion about possible solutions, Ajaero said, "In such situation, even if you come up with legislation to outlaw child labour, and you are not doing anything to bridge the income inequality or the poverty level in the country, it will not have any effect in a country that is ravaged by militancy and by kidnappers."
