The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, pleaded with the NLC yesterday on Sunday at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Lagos where he expressed his concerns about the looming strike on Wednesday as a result of the subsidy removal.

The governor met with journalists at the inauguration thanksgiving service on Sunday and told the people to be patient with President Tinubu. He stated that he is still new in office. Therefore, the people should be careful in turning the subsidy removal into a political issue.

He asked, “So what has changed? What has the current President said, or what has he done that is different from what any of the other aspirants would have done?”

He further urged the NLC to slow down in their actions, saying, “it is not the time for strike.”
