Terrorists attack communities in Jos, and kill over a 100 people on Christmas
A sad and tragic incident befell Plateau state recently after some terrorists attacked some communities in Jos. This incident occurred on Christmas eve, the 24th of December 2023. The incident was indeed a tragic one as over 100 people lost their lives. These attackers attacked 15 communities in Jos and these communities are located in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government area in Plateau state 2 days ago. According to news sources, the death toll has risen to over 115 people as at the early hours of today, December 27th, 2023.
The governor of Jos has also spoken up regarding this incident. The governor, Caleb Mutfwang revealed it was a coordinated attack which claimed the lives of 115 people. He revealed that these attacks were unprovoked. He has given security agents to task to unravel the cause and motive behind this incident that claimed many lives. He revealed that the attacks came after people had prepared to celebrate Christmas and abruptly cut short many lives. Adults and children were not spared as 115 people were slaughtered.
He revealed that they buried 15 people in Mangu local government alone on the 26th of December and were still counting bodies in other local governments. He mentioned that these attackers burnt several houses on Christmas eve, which was a Sunday night. These attackers were armed with weapons including guns. They raided the towns and lotted many farms produce and also destroyed lots of properties in this towns.
