Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has broken his silence on Chelsea's progress so far under the watch of new manager Mauricio Pochettino

After making Premier League top four in 2021/22 season, Chelsea dropped drastically down the pecking order in the Premier League.

They finished in the bottom half of the Premier League last season with no European football - their worst campaign in the Premier League in decades.

It was dramatic turn of event at Stamford Bridge but it appears things got worse for the Blues following the drags and setbacks of transition to new ownership.

Key players such as Anthony Rudiger reportedly left the club due to uncertainties on the fate of the club as British authorities clampdown on former owner Roman Abramovich, asking him to leave the reins due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the club had recently won their second Champions League title under former manager Thomas Tuchel in 2020/21 season but it all came out worse the next season due to UK sanctions on Abramovich.

Thomas Tuchel struggled to fit the London club into elite clubs in the Premier League.

With a dwindling domestic fortunes and an underwhelming performance in Champions League group stage, Tuchel was shown the exit door by the club's new owner Todd Boehly, who was pretty poised to part ways with the German tactician with his mantra of a new beginning.

Suffice it to say, Thomas Tuchel left Chelsea in a relatively better standing than his successors from Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor, and Frank Lampard.

After a difficult run, Chelsea is gradually shedding off a difficult start under new manager Mauricio Pochettino but the Todd Boehly project is still far from completion.

However, the American investor who have expended close to a billion pounds on news signings to overhaul the team, is optimistic of the days ahead.

Speaking after Chelsea's 3-2 win over Brighton, Todd Boehly said;

"We have to continue building on the process that the club has enjoyed over the years.

"Our Mantra has not changed from the day we become custodians of Chelsea Football Club.

"We want to win together and make you proud."

With the win over Brighton, Chelsea are 10th on the Premier League table with 19 points from 14 games.
