A report coming from the Sindende Guest House in the Agege area of Lagos State states that a group of unknown gunmen has shot and killed a civil servant Abiodun Adenuga, during an attack.

It was found that he was shot dead by armed men in the guest house on October 6, 2021.

Mr. Abiodun's sister, Adebiyi, who spoke to reporters on Monday, stated that the masked gunmen stormed the facility at around 1:30 a.m. when they robbed employees and lodgers, including Abiodun.

She added that the attackers shot the father of four in the chest and stole his phone and office documents during the robbery.

Adebisi also pointed out that the 56-year-old man, who was found in a pool of blood in his room, was being rushed to the surgical and emergency department of Lagos State University Hospital, Ikeja, for treatment.

She added that up to 11 bullets were extracted from her brother's chest during the operation and alleged that Abiodun subsequently succumbed to injuries sustained in the attack.

She said: “The hotel management told them about what happened on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 at around 8:30 am. He said he had an accident but when we got to LASUTH we found out that he was shot and we rushed there at 2:35 am.

“We were told that around 1:30 am, armed thieves broke into the hotel, broke into his room, and tried to retrieve his office bag, they shot him. Other victims said they fell from their rooms when they heard gunshots and were also robbed.

“My brother was the only one who was shot and they left with his phone and office bag. We don't know what kind of documents were in the bag."

“About eleven bullets were removed from his chest and he returned two days later after the operation. But he fell into a coma on Friday and has never regained consciousness since. He died at 9:35 a.m. on Monday after several attempts to resuscitate him were canceled, ”Adebisi revealed.

She added that the multiple shots at her brother suggested the intent was to murder him, adding that the bullets damaged most of the organs in his body.

“The LASUTH Chief Medical Director said he saw my brother when he was being rushed to the hospital and my brother told him he told the armed men to drop his bag and the next thing they would be to shoot him.

“They left and after a few minutes they went back to his room and picked up his phone. But he clung to one of the suspect's legs and they shot him again. I know it wasn't theft; Only God knows where it all comes from.

“The thieves were about four; They wore masks and reported to many people that my brother had been targeted. We reported the case to the Pen Cinema Police Station for investigation so that the perpetrators can be arrested, ”she added.

The victim's daughter, Yinka, said her father usually stayed in the guest house when he closed late from work, adding that he had used the facility for about 15 years.

“He has just been promoted to Deputy Director, Environmental Health Services, Occupational Medicine, Lagos State Ministry of Health. My father had three wives and four children, ”she added.

However, Abiodun was believed to be buried last Friday at his Banana Estate Phase 1 residence, Igbe Laara, in the Igbogbo Bayeku Municipal Council development zone of the state.

Lagos State Police PR officer CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu said in a contact, “I will reply to you after I have been informed.

He had not done so when this report was presented.
