Nasser Al Khelaifi has spoken about his desire to see Kylian Mbappe remain at Paris Saint Germain despite the Frenchman's contract set to expire in the summer of 2024.

Mbappe has generated lots of traction in recent weeks, with reports indicating that he has penned a deal with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe has also in recent seasons been on the brink of leaving the Parisians, with Real Madrid reportedly coming close to securing his signature.

The former AS Monaco man also signified that he was keen on exiting the Parc Des Princes last summer and he was subsequently exiled from the first team.

However, he was reinstated to the first team, after Paris Saint Germain drew their opening game of the 2023/24 Ligue 1 season.

Kylian Mbappe joined PSG from AS Monaco on July 1, 2018, for a fee of €180 million.

The 25-year-old has made 24 appearances this campaign, scoring 25 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Nasser Al Khelaifi also branded Mbappe as the best player in the world, whilst terming Paris Saint Germain as the best club for the Frenchman.

He also added that Kylian Mbappe is a key component of Paris Saint Germain's project and plans.

Al Khelaifi said: “I want Kylian Mbappé to stay in Paris. In my opinion, Kylian is the best player in the world… and so Paris Saint-Germain is the best club for him.

“He’s key for our project and at the center of our plans for Paris Saint-Germain”

Kylian Mbappe is arguably the best player in the world, and as such, several clubs are interested in securing his services.

Real Madrid have been in and around in the past few years looking to get his signature but they have often met a brick wall.

Liverpool and Manchester United have also been faintly said to be looking at signing Kylian Mbappe.

However, it appears Los Blancos' interest in the 25-year-old is the most cogent of all, but they will have to cough out over €100 million if they are to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.

This is depending on whether Mbappe signs a new deal with Paris Saint Germain, which in reality looks bleak with each passing day.

Kylian Mbappe is now the primary face of the team since the departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar in the summer of 2023.

Mbappe was said to be in a rift with the South American duo in recent seasons, as reports indicated that he wanted to envelop the spotlight.

Messi and Neymar have since left the club, and Kylian Mbappe is now saddled with the responsibility of stirring the ship forward and it is uncertain if he might be jumping ship soon.
