16 year old girl dies after being crushed by a Tanker in Niger State
A teenager who was only 16 year old has sadly passed away after she was crushed by a Tanker recently in Niger State. It was the Niger State Police Command who confirmed the death of this young girl. It was the state Police Public Relations Officer, who is DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Minna.
The 16 year old victim who was killed by a Tanker has been identified as Priscilla Galadima. The incident occured in Minna, Niger State. The PPRO revealed that this teenage girl was a resident of the Barkin-Sale area in Minna.
The girl had been trying to cross the road around Shiroro Roundabout when the incident occured. She was first hit by a Mercedes benz who had been driving recklessly before being crushed by an oncoming Tanker leading to her untimely death.
DSP Abiodun stated, “Around 10am on Wednesday, a Mercedes Benz vehicle with number plate SUL 140 AJ driven by one Daniel Joshua, aged 35 years of Morris Minna, was coming from Mandela Road heading to Shiroro Roundabout. Somewhere along the way, he drove recklessly and scratched a Toyota Yaris vehicle with number plate RJA 375 AA driven by one Abubakar Yahaya of Okada Road. The Mercedes vehicle reportedly refused to stop while the Toyota vehicle pursued the Benz for it to stop. The Benz, in the process, hit a pedestrian, Priscilla Galadima, aged 16 years of Barkin-Sale, who was trying to cross the road by Shiroro Roundabout.”
He further added “Unfortunately, an oncoming tanker trailer with number plate JMT 576 YR driven by one Ibrahim Lawal of Jembutu Yola, ran over the deceased.”
He revaled that the lady was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead by the doctors. She had been taken to the General Hospital Minna.
He further added that the police have arrested the drivers invlived and have been taken to Tudum Wada Police Division for further investigation. They have also transferred the corpse of this teenage girl to the morgue in the Minna General Hospital.
