FA Cup action on Saturday, January 27, 2023, was full of spark, magnificence, and quality footballing display.

Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Leicester City, Luton Town, and Maidstone United all booked their place in the next round.

Meanwhile, it was a horrible day for teams like Fulham, Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Everton, and Ipswich Town, who experienced defeats.

Let's dish out to you the results in full;

Fulham 0-2 Newcastle United

Sean Longstaff got the opener for Eddie Howe's side in the 39th minute, but it took a while before the goal was confirmed.

Following a VAR review to ascertain if the ball had intentionally struck Guimaraes hand in the build-up to it, the goal was finally given as it was confirmed that the ball touched his hand unintentionally.

In the 61st minute, Daniel Burn netted the second for the Magpies, finding the back of the net against his former employers.

Newcastle United progressed happily into the next round and they are aiming to win the crown.

Sheffield United 2-5 Brighton and Hove Albion

It was a classic game of football, which wasn't short of suspense for many spells, as both teams brought their scoring boots.

However, the Seagulls were the more rampaging of the two sides, with Facundo Buonanotte putting them ahead in the 14th minute.

Joao Pedro doubled Brighton's lead in the 29th minute, illuminating the hearts of their supporters.

It appeared like the game was going to turn on its head, with the home side scoring twice to equalize in the opening 45.

Gustavo Hamer scored for Sheffield United in the 44th minute, before 8 minutes into additional time of the first half, William Osula equalized.

Meanwhile, one penalty kick turned the game back into the hands of Roberto De Zerbi's side, with Joao Pedro tucking it away sublimely.

Leicester City 3-0 Birmingham City

The woes continued for the Blues, as Enzo Maresca's side turned up the heat in the first half, courtesy goals from Dennis Praet, Yunus Akgun, and Jamie Vardy.

They practically didn't need to get out of second gear in the second half, having done the job in the first 45.

Everton 1-2 Luton Town

This was a typical English Premier League affair, with both teams going neck-and-neck at each other for its entire duration.

An own goal from Everton's Vitalli Mykolenko put Luton Town in front in the 39th minute, as he put the ball unfortunately beyond his own goalie and into his net.

The Toffees got back on level terms in the 55th minute through Jack Harrison, but a late dagger from Cauley Woodrow in the 6th minute of stoppage time pierced the hearts of the Evertonians.
