It was a goal galore in the second leg of the last 16 matches in the UEFA Europa League, with several quaking and shocking outcomes.

There were some shocking results for some in the Round of 16, while others solidified their grounds in the competition.

Some teams were trounced, others were annihilated, while some others ascended to cloud 9 due to their rampant display.

Rangers 0-1 Benfica (2-3 Agg)

In Glasgow, Rangers lost to Benfica courtesy of a goal from Rafa Silva, with the Portuguese side progressing to the quarter-finals following their impressive job at the Ibrox stadium.

They made it to the quarter-finals 3-2 on aggregate, with the game witnessing immense competition.

Villarreal 3-1 Marseille (3-5 Agg)

Despite their efforts to resurrect from their unfortunate slump, Olympique Marseille still made it to the last 8 at the expense of Villarreal.

Etienne Capoue netted the opener for the Yellow Submarines in the 32nd minute before Sørloth doubled their lead in the 54th minute.

Yerson Mosquera then further increased their lead 5 minutes before the end of the game, with the fans perceiving the aroma of a potential comeback.

However, Jonathan Clauss scored the lone goal for Marseille 4 minutes into stoppage time, and that put them further behind in the tie.

They lost 5-3 on aggregate, and they will leave to fight another today, possibly next season.

Liverpool 6-1 Sparta Prague (11-2 Agg)

The Reds bruised, battered, and bashed the Czech Republic side right from the blast of the whistle.

Jurgen Klopp's side got three goals in the opening 10 minutes, scoring through Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark, and Mohamed Salah in the 7th, 8th, and 10th minutes respectively.

Cody Gakpo made it 4 for Liverpool in the 14th minute before Veljko Birmancevic lessened the embarrassment for the away side.

In the second duration, Dominik Szoboszlai also penned his name on the score sheet, while Gakpo got his second in the 55th minute.

Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 Qarabag FK (5-4 Agg)

This was the most intriguing game of the night, with both teams producing mesmeric displays thrilling to neutrals.

Qarabag FK will definitely feel saddened by their exit from the competition, given how they were so close to qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The game witnessed a silent first half in terms of goals, but the second duration brought the spark and electricity.

Abdella Zoubir netted the opener for the Azerbaijanis before Juninho doubled their lead in the 67th minute.

Eighteen minutes before the end of proceedings, Jeremie Frimpong pulled one back for Bayer Leverkusen and the comeback indeed was on.

Stoppage time was cracker time, as Patrick Schick scored a brace within 5 minutes - 90+3 and 90+8 to send the Bay Arena side into the last 8.

Xabi Alonso's side were on the brink of elimination and also on the verge of losing their unbeaten run, however, they exuded class late on and that was enough to see them through.
