The Confederation of African Football, CAF, have reportedly subjected Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to doping tests following his brilliant outing with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the ongoing AFCON tournament.

Osimhen scored the Super Eagles' opening goal for the tournament, netting the equaliser that saw the team salvage a point against Equatorial Guinea in Group A opener.

He also won a penalty for the Super Eagles against the tournament's hosts Ivory Coast in the second group game following a buzzing display.

Osimhen took his energetic performance for the three-time AFCON champions to new levels against Cameroon. He was literally everywhere for the Super Eagles, leading the attack, triggering counters, coming back to defend, and creating chances for his teammates.

The Napoli sensation provided the assist that saw Ademola Lookman fire the Super Eagles pass the Indomitable Lions.

Osimhen's brilliant and prolific outing for Nigeria had won him widespread acclaim as well as curiosity from CAF, the organizers of the tournament.

As per Photojournalist Pooja, Victor Osimhen has been subjected to multiple drug tests by CAF to ascertain the integrity of his athletic prowess.

Pooja revealed Osimhen was tested for doping after the Cameroon match as his performance attracted widespread attention.

Meanwhile, soccernet reveals Osimhen was not only tested during the Cameroon match but during the match against Guinea-Bissau as well.

Other Super Eagles players were also subjected to the tests, including players from other national teams.

Nigeria defeated Cameroon to qualify for the quarterfinal of the tournament where they will take on Angola.

Despite the doping buzz, Osimhen is expected to continue on his prolific campaign for the Super Eagles as they prepare to engage Angola in a rollercoaster round 8 clash.
