Super Eagles Sensation Ademola Lookman has fired a warning to the Black Antelopes of Angola ahead of the Super Eagles AFCON quarterfinal showdown with the Group D leaders.

Angola have been the 2023 AFCON dark horses, pulling surprises to reach the last 8 of the tournament. After finishing top of Group D with 7 points, the Black Antelopes comfortably dispatched Namibia with the biggest AFCON round 16 victory so far. They struck thrice to edge out the Namibians and book a rollercoaster quarterfinal tie with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the much-anticipated clash with Angola, Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman fired a warning to the Antelopes, insisting the Super Eagles are ready for them.

In a quote shared by Completesports Ademola Lookman commended the Angolans' fairytale run to the last eight but added the Super Eagles are ready for the cracker.

"They are a very good team. Of course, since reaching AFCON Round 16 is no mean feat. It takes a strong team with character to do so. So, the Angolans cannot be written off but we are ready for them."

Lookman scored both goals as the Super Eagles breeze pass Cameroon to reach the last 8.

The Atalanta winger will hope to continue on his terrific form as the Super Eagles prepare to trade tackles with the Black Antelopes.

The match will kick off by 17:00GMT on Thursday, February 2. Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves, who is said to be a strong admirer of Victor Osimhen, has identified the Napoli forward and Ademola Lookman as two players that can cause Angola problems, hence his undisclosed game-plan to silence the two players and led the Black Antelopes to victory.

Lookman has two goals and one assist for the Super Eagles in the tournament while Victor Osimhen has one goal and one assist.
