Sound Sultan passed away 2 years ago. This was on the 11th of July, 2021. He was 44 years when he passed leaving his wife and children behind. His death came after a long battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, which is a form of cancer.

During the interview, 2face was asked how the loss of his friend sound Sultan affected him. The singer was quite emotional during this interview.

He said, "Sultan, I don't know...he was one of the 'goodest', if I can use that word. he was one of the 'goodest' people you can ever come across."
He revealed that it had take a long time for him to acknowledge and accept the fact that Sound Sultan had passed away.

He said "For a long time, I did not accept that fact, it was like a joke. The diagnosis was late, he did tests in Nigeria, We thought it was malaria but I don't want to get into all that." He refused to say more after that.
