59year old man gets sentenced to life imprisonment for raping his 2 daughters
A 59 year old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping his 2 daughters. This man was sentenced by the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court during a sitting in Ikeja yesterday, Monday September 18, 2023.
This man has been identified as Eze Chukwuma. He is an artisan in Lagos state. His crime was that he defiled his 2 daughters and this had been going on for 9 years. He had been doing this repeatedly between 2008 and 2017 and this was at their home jn No. 2, Agbeke Street, by Iyana-Era Bus-stop, Ijanikin, Lagos State.
It was Justice Abiola Soladoye who handed down his sentence after they proved him to be guilty of these crimes. The judge also mentioned that the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses were corroborated with the ones that the victims gave.
This man began defiling his daughters after the death of his wife in 2008. Their mother had passed away during childbirth and ever since then, their father had been assaulting them. As at the time their mother died, the oldest daughter was 9 years old.
The children revealed that they had revealed what had been happening when they visited their village but no one did anything about it. After they returned to Lagos, the first daughter then ran away from home as a result of the assault. The younger sibling then reported in school that her sister had fled and from there the school invited the Lagos State Ministry of Education and social workers who after investigation arrested the father.
The father confessed to his crimes as well and apologized. He was then sentenced to life imprisonment on each of the two charges which were read against him.
