66 of the Lagos train crash victims, discharged from hospital.
Professor Akin Abayomi who is the Lagos State Commissioner for Health has announced the discharge of 66 patients from the hospital who were involved in the Lagos train/bus crash last week.
These people have been treated and have finally been discharged from the public health facilities in the state.
This was announced during a situation update about the accident on Wednesday, 15th of March, 2023.
Recall there was a terrible accident last week in lagos where a train crushed a bus which was crossing the railway in Lagos. 6 people died and many were injured and taken to the hospital.
This bus was a Lagos State Government staff bus carrying civil servants.
There were 85 people in the bus and then 17 others associated with the accident. This was a total of 102 people.
The survivors who were injured were admitted and treated at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
Other than the 6 people who died, there were no other fatalities recorded. Recall that 2 people died at the scene of the accident and 4 others at LASUTH.
He mentioned that a lot of surgeries were conducted on the patients as soon as possible that they could quickly be discharged
He then added that only 30 patients are still on admission in the hospital. This was as of yesterday, March 15.
About 26 of them are at LASUTH, 2 at General Hospital in Odan and the last 2 at General Hospital in Gbagada.
