8 suspected bank robbers arrested in Ekiti state
8 men who are suspected to be bank robbers were arrested in Ekiti State yesterday. The Police Command in Ekiti State made the arrest.
These men are suspected to be involved in numerous bank robberies which have happened in Ekiti state.
CP Ogundare Dare who is the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti state confirmed this to journalists yesterday.
He said 4 suspects had been arrested for receiving stolen properties, while the other four were arrested for sundry crimes.
He revoked that these men were invited in the robbies which had been occurring again and again in ekiti state.
He also revealed that it was the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) who made the arrest after they received intelligence.
He identified these men who were arrested as Raymond Hamilton Francis, Odiri Isaac, Dele Ajayi, Segun Folorunso ojo, Ifeanyi Emmanuel and Godwin Emeka who were arrested in Ikorodu in Lagos. This was because they had been involved in many highway robberies and bank robberies.
The other two gang members who were arrested are Shola Ayeni and Aremu Adebayo who were arrested at Iloro-Ekiti and Ijero-Ekiti.
The suspects confessed to the crimes and due to this confession, they were able to arrest 4 others.
They also recovered items like a pistol, one cut to size double barrel gun, two fabricated guns, six live cartridges and ten vehicles that are suspected to have been stolen.
The CP revealed that the police is making efforts to arrest the others who are on the run.
He then revealed that they would all be arraigned as soon as the investigation has been completed.
