Actress Linda Osifo reveals why she wanted to bleach her skin

Popular Nollywood actress, Linda Osifo, has revealed the reason why she wanted to bleach her skin. She recently disclosed that she had thought about bleaching her skin while she was in Canada and this had been because of some racists comments.

Linda is a famous Nollywood actress and TV host. She was the first runner up of the Miss Nigerian Entertainment Canada 2011 and has participated in some other beauty pageants. She was born in Benin City in Nigeria, and when she was 16 years old, she moved to Canada.
The actress revealed that she suffered from racism while she was in Canada and this had led to her Contemplating bleaching her skin.

She shared this during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo who is a famous Nigerian media personality.
Chude had asked “You talked about wanting to bleach your skin because when you grow up people would call me a monkey. Did this literally happen?”

She responded saying that it happened because of her shade of colour. She stated that when people around you bully you, it hurts more because you would see them often. She also added that the positivity part of moving back to Nigeria was that she met people like her and it was then she appreciated herself more.

She stated “Yeah. It happens absolutely. And it happens from your shade too, you know. So, that’s why it’s even more of a weird thing. I always feel that those who get bullied, don’t get bullied by outsiders. It’s from within. Because if somebody else says it, you may not care but if somebody who is around you, who you are always kinda seeing every other day says it, it hurts more. This was when I was a teenager in Canada. The positive aspect of moving to Nigeria was seeing more individuals who look just like me.”
