The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old taxi driver, Dauda Idris, for allegedly raping two minors in Michika Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, June 23, said the suspect raped the little girls several times and threatened to kill them if they speak out.



"On 20/6/2022 the command also apprehended a 34 year old man for sexually assaulting two minors of jiddel village, Michika local government area," the statement read.



"The suspect, one Dauda Idris a taxi driver and resident of Jiddel village, took advantage of the little girls haven noticed the absence of their parents.



"The suspect was apprehended by the police in Michika Divisional headquarters, following report received from one Magret Dali a mother to one of the victim.



"Investigation so far reveals that the suspect raped the little girls severally with threat to kill them if they speak out."



The State Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, have directed for discreet investigations into the matter and equally advised parents to take proper control of their wards.



In the same vein, the police boss have directed for immediate prosecution of the suspect to serve as deterrent to others.
