Popular Nigerian musician, Adekunle Gold has revealed the reason why he decided to braid his hair. Adekunle Gold is a well-known Nigerian musician and his full name is Adekunle Kosoko.
He is married to another Nigerian singer known as Simi and they have a child together. He began his career with his hit song titled 'Sade' which he released in 2014. When he commenced his career, he wasn't braiding his hair then but had kept a full low cut afro. Some years down the line, he decided to braid his hair and he has finally shared the reason why.

He recently shared this information during an interview on MTV Base Africa’s programme, Touching Base, which is hosted by Susan Pwajok. He shared that the reason he braided his hair was not for branding purposes.
He revealed that the reason behind his braiding was that he had wanted to try something different. He said his hair had been growing and he has decided to try a new side of himself. He says he had tried it and saw it looked good on him.
He said, “There was no plan for it to be like a brand. In 2019, my hair was growing. Remember when I had that punk. And I was like, let me even try a new side of me. Let me even try to grow this hair and then make it. And I have really nice core pattern, whatever you guys called it. Core texture. But, yeah. I just decided to grow it and it looks good on me.”
