Liverpool fans are frantic over the fitness of Mohamed Salah after the winger was forced off with an injury in the first half of Egypt's African Cup of Nations 2023 clash against Ghana.

Salah was substituted in the 2nd minute of additional time in the first half, and he was replaced by Pyramids FC Mostafa Fathi.

Mohamed Salah reportedly sustained a hamstring injury during the clash and it is unsure if he will feature in subsequent matches at the tournament.

The former AS Roma forward has made 92 appearances for Egypt, scoring 54 goals and providing 32 assists.

He is the country's all-time top scorer, with 17 goals more than Mohamed Aboutreika, who netted 37 goals for the North African nation in 94 appearances.

The Pharaohs are sweating over the fitness of the Egyptian, as he is their star man and biggest asset towards launching a charge for an 8th AFCON title.

Meanwhile, Egypt drew 2-2 with Ghana in a fiercely contested clash at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium.

The encounter involving giants of the African game lit up magnificently, with both teams bringing their A-game to the fold.

However, Ghana might feel downcasted to have not secured all 3 points but Egypt will be delighted for their courage and drive.

The Black Stars took the lead through Mohammed Kudus in the 3rd minute of additional time in the opening half of proceedings.

Nine minutes after the hour mark, Omar Marmoush equalized for Egypt, before Kudus got Ghana back ahead in the 71st minute.

Three minutes after Mohammed Kudus' goal, The Pharaohs once again exuded their attacking instinct, with Mostafa Mohamed netting the final goal of the clash.

The group housing both nations, Group B, is still wide open, with Egypt sitting 2nd on the log with 2 points from 2 games, following two draws in their group games so far.

Ghana are the basement side in the group with 1 point from 2 matches, having lost their opening game of the group 1-2 to Cape Verde before sharing the spoils with Egypt.
