AFRICA’S RICHEST MAN DANGOTE MAKES SHOCKING REVELATION, SAYS HE'S A TENANT IN ABUJA AND HAS NO HOUSE OUTSIDE NIGERIA

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man and chairman of the Dangote Group, revealed that he lives in a rented apartment in Abuja and does not own any property outside Nigeria. During a media parley at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos State, he explained that his commitment to Nigeria’s industrialization drives this decision, as owning properties abroad would distract him.

Dangote once owned a house in London, which he sold in 1996. Currently, he only owns homes in Lagos and Kano, alongside the rented apartment in Abuja. His dedication to Nigeria was praised by his daughter, Fatima Dangote, who highlighted his unwavering commitment to the country's development.

With a net worth of ₦17.43 trillion ($12.5 billion), Dangote is not only Africa’s richest person but also ranks 144th globally. He is the founder and chairman of Dangote Cement, Africa’s largest cement producer, which operates in 10 countries and has an annual production capacity of 48.6 million metric tons. Additionally, Dangote's fertilizer plant began operations in 2022, and his refinery is set to start in 2024.
