The Premier League will be depleted of some of its African talents as 2023 AFCON kicks off. The 24-team tournament will take place in Ivory Coast with the inaugural match between tournament hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau on January 13.

The Premier League ordered all Premier League clubs to release their players on or before January 1 for the tournament as demanded by their respective national teams.

We reported Andre Onana has been given a lifeline by Cameroon to continue with Manchester United in the next two matches before joining up with the Indomitable Lions on January 14.

Other African players in the Premier League have joined up with their national teams with Liverpool attacking sensation Mohamed Salah leading the list of key names who will not be in Premier League until their national teams are through with the tournament.

Mohammed Kudus of Ghana have left West Ham United to join the Black Stars' camp for the tournament, including Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo.
