Afrobeats star Davido donates N237m to 424 orphanages.

Popular Nigerian musician Davido has donated a sum of N237m to some orphanages. He gave this amount of money to 424 orphanages across the country.

Davido is a very popular Afrobeat musician. His real name is David Adeleke but he is known popularly as Davido. He is married to Chioma Rowland.

He recently took to his Twitter to made the announcement. She shared that he had donated a sum of N237 million to 424 orphanages across the country. This donation was made through the David Adeleke Foundation, (DAF)

He revealed this just yesterday, Thursday July 20, 2023. He mentioned that a number of individuals and corporations which cut across various sectors and regions also made contributions to this donation.

He attached a press statement to his tweet.

This donation was for the less privileged. He revealed in the statement that 13, 818 children benefited from this donation.

He shared how he has always wanted to use his platform to serve other people. He thanked those who supported and donated for their generosity and is very glad he was able to do so.

He revealed that he gave out this money to several orphanages in Nigeria. He also shared that this is a tradition that began a few years ago around his birthday.

He once again thanked the donors for their help saying they are changing lives.
He then said this is what he means when he says 'we rise by lifting others'.

Recall Davido did something like this last year when he donated N250 million to 292 orphanages in Nigeria.
