Alejandro Garnacho made the headlines with his wonder goal as Manchester United romped to their biggest Premier League win this season over Everton.
The former Man United youth player scored a sensational goal just three minutes into the game to set United enroute to victory at Goodison Park.
Stucked at the far end of Everton penalty area, the Argentine sensation let fly a super effort on Luke Shaw's cross to score a powerful overhead kick.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the goal, Alejandro Garnacho revealed he did not know he has scored with his sublime but powerful effort. He added he learnt from the reaction of the fans that he has scored, and it was such a big moment for him.
“I can't believe it to be honest,” he began.
“I just did [it] and I didn't see how I scored, I just listened around.
“I said: 'Oh my god', and for me, of course, it was one of the best goals I have ever scored. I am very happy.”
As reported by manutd.com, Garnacho's wonder goal against Everton was not the first time the youngster has pulled off a mind-blowing goal. He was known for his sparking goalscoring efforts as well while playing for Manchester United U-18 before his break-in into Man United first team.
Despite initial setbacks due to injury, Garnacho has always been tipped as the next big talent at Manchester United. He was promoted into Man United first team by current United manager Erik ten Hag, who have huge confidence on his abilities.
Playing mostly as a left-winger, Garnacho is known for his speed, tact, and creativity on the ball. Since breaking into Man United first, he has impressed with instant impact, and will play a great role in the squad in the coming years.
His wonder goal against Everton is the first time he has found the back of the net for Manchester United in the Premier League this season and what a way to register his name on the club's scorer's list.
His goal has been compared to Wayne Rooney's super strike against Manchester City in 2011 with most pundits giving it to Garnacho than Rooney on vintage levels.
First, Wayne Rooney seemed to have been closer to the goal than Alejandro Garnacho and did not leap as much into the air as the Argentine.
When asked how his goal measures up to Wayne Rooney's, Garnacho said;
“I say it is very much like [Wayne] Rooney's goal, I dont know which one is better,” he added. “Both are incredible goals.”
Garnacho will be expected to return to action with Manchester United against Galatasaray in Champions League.
