Anambra auto crash leads to the death of 1 person.
1 person has sadly passed away in an auto crash which occurred recently in Anambra State. This accident took place at the Umunya Odumodu Junction along Nteje-Awka Expressway. This was in the Oyi Local Government Area.
One life was lost in the accident while 12 others were injured.
The accident was a multiple road accident. 2 heavy-duty trucks, a bus and 2 other cars were involved in the accident. It was these 2 trucks, a Sienna commercial bus, a black Toyota car and another commercial vehicle
The incident happened around 12:40 pm yesterday, Saturday.
The commercial vehicles involved in the crash were traveling to Enugu.
A witness at the scene revealed that he had seen a trailer who lost its brakes when it approached a junction. Unfortunately the truck was coming at full speed and crashed into another truck. The truck he ran into was next to a bus full of passengers and the accident affected them as well.
Margaret Onabe who is the acting Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in AnambraState has confirmed this she said only 1 life was lost.
She says the accident was caused most likely by this overspeeding on the part of the truck.
The truck crashing into the other truck had caused multiple collisions with four other vehicles.
