Anambra community faces serious risk of destruction from erosion
Communities buildings in Anambra are facing serious risk of damage due to the erosion that has been affecting them.
Due to the erosion, a part of the road at Onitsha-Owerri expressway looks as though it will soon give way. Recsll one of the lanes gave way to the erosion and motorists had to stick to one lane.
Some cracks have been discovered on the lane which motorists are plying.
This erosion may also destroy some buildings like he First Choice Plastics Ltd I that environment.
Chief Victor Umeh who is the Senator representing Anambra Central zone, led some members to check out the site but work has not commenced to repair it.
He revealed that the Federal Government needs to intervene. He says he doubts the other lane will survive from how it looks.
He reckoned that there is need for urgent action because all the communities in the state are facing risk of this erosion.
