Anambra Police Command arrest 11 rape suspects in 1 week
The police command of Anambra State had made an arrest of a total of 11 people who are suspects of rape.
It was the Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Mr Aderemi Adeoye who revealed this information.
He shared that they arrested and retained a total of 11 suspect in various rape cases in one week.
Different cases of rape and defilement had been reported and these suspects were arrested in a week.
He revealed this in a statement which was issued by the Spokesperson of the state police command DSP Tochukwu Ikenga. The statement was released yesterday,Monday in Akwa.
He went ahead to plead with parents to make sure hey pay attention to the things their wards and children and doing or being exposed to.
He recalled how last week a crew had showed how a group of 6 boys hang raped a 19 year old girl in the state. He mentioned that they had conducted investigation into this case and found out the incident occurred in Orama-etiti, Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area.
The police had then made the arrest of these 6 suspects. They had collaborated with the local vigilance group in the area.

Other than this case another case led to the arrest of 3 suspects. He revealed that the Police were on patrol recently when they were able to arrest these 3 suspects who had assaulted a 15 year old girl.

She left the house in tears and the other guy, June took her to his house on a pretense of helping her only to rape her as well.
She was later rescued by the police and vigilantes.
Another case of the arrest of a man named Chinenye Ezemehege, who is 41 years old and raped a 13 year old was also revealed
It was the police operatives from Ekwulobia Division who made the arrest of this man.
He confessed to his crimes too and revealed he was paying the girl between N500 and N1000 for her service.
The last suspect was a man named Odimako Ikenga, who is 38 years old and was also arrested by the police in Atani Division on the 13th of July.
He had raped a 12-year-old girl and had been a wanted man for sometime.
The commissioner revealed that that of these suspects will be arraigned.

- Abuchi Ikechukwu (17 years old)
- Ifeanyi Chijoke (17 years old)
- Collins Ogbodo (19 years old)
- Sunday Okafor (27 years old)
- Ezenwa Afam (18 years old).
