Argentina right winger Angel Di Maria will become a Benfica player next week after a final agreement between the two parties.
The former Real Madrid frontman is expected to sign a one-year deal with Benfica, which will be valid until the summer of 2024.
The midfielder joined Juventus last summer after seven productive years with French giant Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Angel Di Maria failed to renew his contract this season as he hoped to move to a team where his chances of playing wouldn’t be little.
Juventus, who finished in seventh place on the Serie A table after a 10-point deduction for financial irregularities, confirmed the player’s departure with a statement saying, “Following one season in black and white, Angel Di Maria and Juventus have parted ways.”
“Among the most notable highlights in Bianconero’s career was his goal on debut against Sassuolo: a well-taken volley that sent the fans at the Allianz Stadium into raptures.”
