After relegation-bound Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club drew goalless with Enugu Rangers in their NPFL encounter on Sunday, May 1, a match official was assaulted.Angry

MFM fans confronted the official after the final whistle and attacked him while he was being led by numerous police officers.

"A match official was attacked in Lagos after MFM drew 0-0 with visiting Enugu Rangers," he said. After the final whistle, MFM fans approached the official and smacked him across the face."

With only 24 points, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club is at the bottom of the league table.

Watching football in Nigeria and officiating a match there is even more dangerous. They beat up the referee in this match. The NFF needs to start securing Nigerian referees. They can kill them if care is not taken.
