Another batch of 125 evacuated Nigerians arrive in Abuja
Another batch of the Nierians who were evacuated from Sudan have arrived in Abuja.
This batch includes a total number of 125 Nigerians who were evacuated.
They arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in Abuja yesterday, May 13, 2023.
It was around 12:49pm they arrived at the airport in Abuja.
This batch of Nigerians have now added to the toast number of Nigerians that have been evacuated from a sudan. The number now stands at 2,371.
The aides of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Faruk received them when they arrived. Others who welcomed them include some officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and also officials of the Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) etc.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Nasir Gwarzo and the Director General, of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ahmed Habib were also there amongst others.
The Federal Government had given the citizens of Nigeria assurance that they would leave no one behind during the process of evacuation. This was on the 3rd of May and ever since, a process of evacuations have been carried out to get Nigerians back home safely.
Nigerian Airlines like Air Peace, NAF, Max Air and Tarco Airline have been involved in the process of airlifting them back to Nigeria.
Some universities have pitched in their support to these Nigerians who were evacuated.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) also said they would proved support to them so that they can gain entry into Nigerian universities to continue their education.
