Aondona Dajoh emerges as Speaker of Benue Assembly

Mr. Aondona Dajoh has emerged as the speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly. Mr Dajoh is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is representing the Gboko West State Constituency in Gboko Local Government Area.

The Benue State House of Assembly consists of 32 members and their speaker has now been declared.

He won against his opponent, Mrs. Becky Orpin who is also of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a total of 17 votes. She was representing the Gboko East State constituency. Mrs Becky had 15 votes, 2 less than the votes Mr Dajoh won with.

The first round of voting had been a turn with 16 votes each but they had to reconvene for the voting exercise again after some hours.

There had been some issues which ensued into shouting from both parties.

The Clark, Mr. Bernard Nule was able to step in and control everything.

Mr Dajoh, after winning, thanked everyone for their support and gave his speech.

He as they pledged to fall in line with the agenda which the president has for Benue State.


He also pledged to be a good leader, a servant leader and promised a good relationship between the Legislative and the Executive arms of government.
