Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni embarrassed APC chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa on national TV
On the 30th of October, the anchor of the Arise TV morning show, Journalist Rufai Oseni, and an APC representative whose name is Jesutega Onokpasa engaged in a duel on national TV. The interview was going well until Onokpasa uttered some untrue statements which Rufai Oseni immediately corrected. But that didn't sit well with Onokpasa as he began ranting and called Rufai Oseni an incompetent journalist. Now, what was the statement that led to the altercations in the first place?
Rufai quoted Mr. Onakpasa's statement regarding subsidy removal as a misrepresentation of the truth in favor of his political party. That's because Mr. Onakpasa said the President Tinubu administration didn't remove subsidy which is untrue as the removal of subsidy was announced on the day of the Presidential inauguration at Abuja.
Rufai said as a patriotic citizen, Mr. Onakpasa was meant to support the government when it was right and oppose it whenever it fell short of people's expectations. However, Mr. Onakpasa considered Rufai rude for calling him out and claimed he was embarrassing him as the guest on the Arise TV morning show. He said Rufai is pretending to be a journalist and shouldn't speak rudely to him on national TV.
