Alex Iwobi was a victim of a violent burglary at his residence in the UK, with attackers making away with items worth an estimated £500,000.
Fulham and Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has reportedly been robbed at knifepoint during a frightening home invasion at his residence in London. The incident is said to have occurred on Sunday evening, barely hours after he featured for Fulham in their 3-1 Premier League win over Burnley at Craven Cottage.

According to multiple reports citing Daily Sports, burglars broke into the Nigerian international’s home and came face-to-face with the 29-year-old, holding him at knifepoint before carting away valuables. The attackers allegedly made off with luxury wristwatches, jewellery, mobile phones, a laptop and a large sum of cash. The total value of items stolen is estimated to be around £500,000, including approximately £200,000 in cash.

Iwobi was reportedly left badly shaken by the ordeal but there have been no indications of physical injury. Local authorities have opened an investigation into the robbery, with police working to identify and track down the suspects. No arrests had been confirmed at the time of filing this report.

The incident comes at a time when Iwobi has been enjoying strong form for both club and country, following an impressive AFCON 2025 campaign with Nigeria and a key role in helping Fulham push into the top half of the Premier League table. Concerned fans and stakeholders in Nigerian football have taken to social media to express support and relief that the midfielder escaped the attack with his life, while calling for improved security measures for high-profile players based in the UK

That’s really scary to hear.
Alex Iwobi going through something like that, especially at home, is serious. Thank God he wasn’t physically harmed.
Losing valuables is one thing, but safety comes first.
Hopefully the police get those responsible quickly and security is tightened.
