Arrested Policemen set to face trial over student assault
Just recently some policemen who were 6 in number were arrested on the grounds of assault.
News updates state that these policemen are set to face trial over this.
They assaulted 2 people who are believed to be students of the University in Owerri, Imo State.
It was ASP Henry Okoye who is the Police Public Relations Officer of Imo State, who revealed this information last night, April 21.
Recall a video of the assault was released and it showed how these policemen brutalized these students
The ASP Henry has said these men are now facing disciplinary actions. He mentioned that after the video surfaces, they found out that Inspector Sunday Amadi who led the team assaulted the students with a cutlass.
These 2 students were seen in a black spot for hard drugs in Imo state and allegedly had weed in their possession.
They revealed that the investigation is still ongoing and the Commissioner of Police has ordered a room trial against these officers.
More disciplinary actions will be taken against then if they are found guilty of these crimes
