Arsenal have issued a statement to take a stand on the European Super League amidst reactions by other clubs.

The Premier League title hopefuls joined a host of other clubs to declare their support for UEFA and commitment to UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal club statement reads;

"Our position in relation to the European Super League has not changed. We will continue to play in UEFA competitions and continue to work with fellow European clubs and the European Club Association (ECA)”.

Arsenal's statement is coming after other Premier League clubs, including other big European heavyweights have also declared their allegiance to UEFA and commitment to continue with UEFA Champions League instead of European Super League.

Manchester United led the list of the first set of clubs who were quick to release statements expressing their commitment to UEFA.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, PSG, Monaco, have also declared their support for UEFA and UEFA Champions League, including other UEFA club competitions.

While the judgement by the European Court of Justice must have lifted the legal barrier to the formation of the European Super League, the grandiose and flamboyant football project will face the hurdle of garnering support from big teams from Europe to realize their objectives.

As of the time of filing this report, two La Liga and European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are the ringleaders for the European Super League project. Juventus were among the pioneers of the project in 2021 under former club chief Andrea Agnelli but were forced to withdraw following heavy backlash by the fans.

Manchester United were also forced to withdraw in 2021 as well following protest by fans.

With all the big clubs in Europe reiterating their decision not to take part in the European Super League, the Perez and Laporta-led football revolution is certainly set to face logistics issues with their newly-proposed 64-team format.
