Arsenal have raised their match ticket prices for the upcoming 2024/25 Premier League season.
The Gunners issued a club statement confirming the hike in ticket prices. They maintain the decision to raise the prices follows the soaring prices of other commodities and the need to ensure the club compete at the highest level.
"Our ambition is to continue competing at the highest level and investing in our teams in an environment where costs continue to rise.
"We are also continuing to make investments to improve the matchday experience for our supporters at Emirates Stadium," Arsenal club statement reads.
It is the second time Arsenal have raised their ticket prices in two successive seasons. The club hiked the fees by 5% this season across all categories with a commitment to offer a seamless football viewing experience to its teeming fans.
A breakdown of the price increase for match tickets shows fans who sit in the upper tier of the stadium will pay an additional £72 from next season - a pound more than those watching from the lower tie.
Those at the 'Center Upper" will pay a whooping £2,050 while adults watching on the ground decks of the stadium close to the goal and corner section will pay £1,073.
Arsenal Supporters Trust reacts
Arsenal fan group, Arsenal Supporters Trust, have blasted the decision of the club to hike the ticket prices.
In an official statement addressing the price hike, the group insist they are disappointed by the decision given the fact that the club are set to benefit from playing more home matches next season.
They also deprecated the size of the price increase which will be 10% more than the current rates. According to them, the club's projected revenue from commercial and broadcast rights will hit an all-time high of £150m, hence hiking ticket prices by 10% would be unnecessary.
"We are disappointed Arsenal chose to reject our call for a freeze in ticket prices given the club will benefit from playing more home matches next season.
"These proposals mean a supporter buying an Arsenal season ticket for 2024/25 will pay approximately 10% more than this season.
"This size of increase is unnecessary at a time when club revenues from broadcast and commercial revenues will increase by up to £150m over two seasons to exceed a predicted half a billion pounds during this current season," the statement reads.
Proffering solutions to how the club would have mitigated the said increase in operating costs, the group said they should have designed a 19-game Premier League-only season ticket which could have been more affordable.
Arsenal are said to be among the top three Premier League clubs with the most expensive season tickets. The Gunners are only behind Fulham and Tottenham, who charge as much as £3,000 and £2,025, respectively.
