Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has named France and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann as the most underrated football player in existence.
The former FC Barcelona player claimed that the France international is not often praised for his brilliant performances and fine positional versatility.
Henry was discussing with Le Parisien ahead of France's forthcoming International friendly games against Germany and Chile.
The former Arsenal striker claimed that Griezmann should be given his flowers for his consistency.
Speaking about Griezmann, Henry said; "We must not forget Antoine, who reminds us that hard work is a talent. He (Griezmann) is, by far, the most underrated player in existence.
"We often talk about Kylian Mbappe, so much so that I am even in favor of abusing him. But Griezmann, look at his passes and his goals".
He added; "Tell me, who in history could play all four offensive positions like him? There are not many. Grizou is one of them."
Griezmann has already secured his place as Atletico Madrid's all-time top scorer with 176 goals, whilst at international level, the 32-year-old is France's fourth-highest scorer with 44 goals in 127 games.
Thierry Henry believes the versatile forward has never received the credit he deserves during his career.
Griezmann was expected to be included in France's squad that plays against Germany and Chile but has pulled out due to an ankle injury, which means his record run of playing 84 consecutive games for Les Bleus is now over.
Football lovers could disagree that Griezmann's contribution at the national level has been underrated.
The 32-year-old played a pivotal role in France's 2018 FIFA World Cup glory and four years later, the Atletico Madrid forward was a standout performer as Didier Deschamps' side reached the final in Qatar.
Ahead of his France Euro 2024 campaign this summer, head coach Didier Deschamps confessed Griezmann is "not irreplaceable but essential" to the team.
Deschamps said; "With Antoine’s qualities we’re not going to find a player who has his characteristics".
He added; "A replacement position for the position is very, very, very difficult to find. We will arrange things differently".
Henry, on the other hand, who is the manager of France's under-21 team, will lead the team at next year's Olympic Games in Paris.
Henry's team at the Olympics will be comprised mostly of players who are below the age of 23, but he can call up three senior players.
It was reported this month that he wishes to select Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud, and Antoine Griezmann as part of his squad, according to Le Parisien.
