The arrival of David Raya to Arsenal was expected to be impactful and contribute to the success of the club.

Raya joined the Gunners from Brentford on loan on August 15, 2023, for a fee of €3.34 million.

David Raya started on the bench but has since displaced Aaron Ramsdale to claim the number 1 spot.

There is the possibility of Arsenal fully signing him for a fee of 27 million if they deem his performance worthy enough of a permanent deal.

Anyway, the Spaniard has seemingly gone under the radar about his poor display this campaign. He currently has the lowest save percentage amongst the goalies in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has also faced some level of criticism in a few games this season, with his howlers either yielding to a goal or nearly resulting in a goal.

Raya has had a noticeably low save percentage of 61.5%, keeping about 5 clean sheets so far this campaign.

He is the only goalkeeper playing for a traditional top 6 club on the list of top 5 goalkeepers with the lowest number of saves, and shockingly, that means that Andre Onana isn't on the list.

It seems like things haven't gone well at his parent club Brentford, as Mark Flekken, who is the club's number 1 following David Raya's loan departure to Arsenal is also on the list.

Flekken has a save percentage of 62.2%, and the goalies according to this data have all amassed a minimum of 10 Premier League games this term.

Mark Flekken has struggled to fit into the shoes of Raya, having joined the club from SC Freiburg on July 1, 2023, for a fee of €13 million.

The Netherlands shot-stopper has made 18 appearances for Brentford this term, accruing only 3 clean sheets thus far.

There are two other notable goalkeeping names on this list due to their exploits in recent years in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace's Sam Johnstone and Brighton's Jason Steele are noticeable names on the list, with the former having a save percentage of 63.6%, while the latter has a save percentage of 61.9% - just below Arsenal's David Raya.

In completing the top 5 goalkeepers with the lowest save percentage thus far for the 2023/24 season, Sheffield United's Wes Foderingham comes into the picture.

The 32-year-old has conceded the most goals in the league this campaign (49), and it is not shocking to see his name on the list.

Expectedly, Sheffield United also sit bottom of the Premier League table, with 9 points from 20 matches.

The Englishman has kept only 1 clean sheet this campaign, and he joined The Blades on a free transfer on July 27, 2020.
