ASUU joins Nationwide strike declared by NLC

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has finally joined the Nationwide strike declared by the National Labor Congress (NLC) which started on the 13th of November 2023. An official statement was released by the union to confirm this and it has advised its members to temporarily stay away from their various workplaces. This is yet another dilemma for Nigerian students as many have just resumed school. When will ASUU ever stop going on strikes?

Some people are slightly confused after ASUU announced it will be joining the strike despite the ridiculous hike in school fees at different institutions. Why would ASUU join the strike when Universities had earlier stated that the increase in fees is to meet up with lecturers' salaries and other expenses needed in the school? So students have to pay over a 100% increase in their fees to ensure the smooth running of the tertiary institutions yet, be affected by strikes?
